My parents taught me how to be independent, long before I ever went to any blindness center, those are just normal things that people learn regardless of disability, so if you don’t have any of those skills, you are better off going to a training center to learn, but is gonna take a lot of effort on your part and a lot of feeling uncomfortable to get to a place where you wanna be not living at home with mommy, that’s not a disability challenge, that’s a life challenge we all struggle with that. Good luck, it’s a good thing you live in Texas, Twc is a far better organization than most states havez, they just bought me a new computer and hearing aids

Well that was the reason that I said that if you're self-sufficient and can survive without your mother's help then to move out, but you're not there yet. You could eventually become self-sufficient, but you're definitely gonna have to set your mind to it and work on it. At this point in time if you don't have anything to offer yourself, you don't have anything to offer your significant other either. I'm not putting you down, I'm just simply telling you that's how it is. I don't necessarily agree with Chris Cole either because I've seen a lot of people go through those programs and never do anything with themselves. A lot of people will probably tell you that if you'll go to those programs everything will be OK, but it's not going to be until you put for the effort and somehow figure it out. There are definitely a lot of opportunities in this world for blind people, you just have to figure out where you're going to fit into that as an individual.

If your self-sufficient and can survive on your own without your mother's help, pack it up and move it out. You're not going to live a very happy life if you allow people to control you. I think that there are some parents out there who think that they're blind children will just stay around forever so they don't ever have to give them up. I saw a lot of this nonsense when I had my very short stay at the Texas school for the blind.
