I think in general it’s a good idea to let people know if you’re recording them and if you’re planning to upload those recordings onto the Internet.

I'd let them know, if they are family or friends. Audio is interesting as a lot can get in the picture. As long as it's not something personal to someone that they would be offended about being online, as long as they know your recording, and the reason, isn't to record them, but the fireworks, and they happen to get in the picture, it's prob gonna be ok with them. Happy New Years!
