I kind of thought it was going to be similar to the books where they would also talk the same way they talked in the books, and it’s nothing like that. They’re not out there alone 40 miles from town and the way the books told the story.

Yes, you definitely have to forget about the books and the original TV show. Out of curiosity I went in and watched another 15 minutes of episode two and it is most definitely different. All of the episodes are there from season one, so you can binge watch it if you want to. And I know that they have already renewed for season two. It looks to me like they might possibly be basing this more on Laura Ingle’s annotated autobiography and not necessarily the actual little house books.
