Wanna know the fire alarm that sounds like the buzzer used in the game show Family Feud? It's a simplex 4030. Someone did a system test of it on youtube years ago, NewAgeServerAlarm. I would hate to have one of those because the guy that did the test says it's so loud that it rumbles the floor!

I can take a wild guess. Something in that pitch range was probably using a kind of electromechanical buzzer, so maybe some piece of metal was activated to produce that pitch.

I don't know exactly what alarm it could have been, probably FireX or something from the 70s but whatever it was it must have been using a Kobishi CLB-27 horn in it. When I was growing up we had stuff from FireX, what model I don't know but what I do know is that it had a KobishiCLB-26 in it and they didn't sound anything like that. The ones today that still give me god awful memories are the wheelock mt's. We had those at my school and dorms and they always malfunctioned. Look them up sometime on youtube and you'll see why I hate them. I will warn you that Continuous, March time, and code 3 horn all have undertones of 60hz.

I enjoyed it. I thought it was quite entertaining. And that’s the first thing I thought of was a party horn when I first heard you blow that that day so and I’ve heard alarms like that too so you’re certainly not feeding about that anyway thanks it gave me a chuckle
