    Because the entirety of this situation has essentially become an Internet meme at this point, and, well, blind people, mainly due to accessibility barriers, arent exactly known for being abreast of current and Internet culture. In fact, most of the people I know who aren't exactly online all the time only are just now finding out about this case at all.
