I am not a beta tester for WhatsApp although I've tried to get in but there's just no openings. But from other beta testers I've heard that the usernames are already being tested. I'm not sure why WhatsApp is so late to the game when it comes to this because other services have had usernames for a good while.

Yes that's definitely very true I look forward to the time when WhatsApp just lets us use usernames.

They say that WhatsApp will support usernames sometime this year. At that point, you won't be forced to only use your phone number. You will still have to register with your phone number, but you'll be able to use the username.

Yeah, the reason why I use telegram. Is because you have the flexibility of giving people your username. Or your phone number. Now with WhatsApp. You can only give them a phone number. And I don’t like the fact that you’re driven to being forced into giving people just your phone number. Because what if somebody’s not comfortable with that. And I wish WhatsApp didn’t wear it. You can give people your email even or your phone number. With telegram. You can go into your user profile. And set up a username when you’re done. And that’s the username that you give people. If you do not want to give your actual number. Now, yes, I do understand that in both apps. You can go under privacy settings, and hide a lot of things. But with telegram. At least you do not have to give a phone number. If you are not comfortable. With WhatsApp. You’re forced to give your phone number and your phone number only. Yeah that’s what I don’t like about it.

Yes, Landon. I do use unigram when I’m at the computer. But if I have to be mobile. Then yeah, I have to use it on my phone.

I never really understood why so many people wanted to use telegram in the first place. You can't be over there for 10 minutes without getting hit up with all kinds of spam, they get rich overnight schemes, the people who can't speak English that have amazing money making opportunities for you. And to top it all off, their CEO was evidently allegedly distributing child pornography through the platform. So that's the person who actually runs things that was doing that.

Well, I’ve been trying to talk about this PC version, unigram, have you used that? I meant to say I’ve been hearing talk about the PC version of telegram called unigram.
