I downloaded It Can't Happen Here a while back but never got around to reading it. It's still on my must-read list. It reminds me of The Referee Counts Nine that I posted about on Ramblio several months ago. Unfortunately I can't find it in English. It's similar to The Man in the High Castle by PKD. And I am currently reading The Facade by Michael Heiser. Thanks for the recommendation.

Maybe I'll view the series. However, I prefer to first read a book before watching its adaptation. I like what they've done with Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

I'm currently rereading preparation for the next life by Atticus Lish. It's what I would classify contemporary fiction, it's a bit dark and gritty, but a good read if you like that kind of stuff. Think NPR book list type of stuff. 🤓📚

The last book that made me lose sleep was Different Seasons by Stephen King, specifically Apt Pupil. Books rarely have that type of effect on me, so that's how I knew I was entering a different season in life. The Facade, which is the book I'm currently reading, is also causing some anxiety.😂

Hey KAYOTIC, I think the genre you're looking for is called lit RPG. I tried getting into the DCC universe, but I just couldn't. It felt too much like reading the transcript from a twitch stream, and I would much rather have been playing the game, then being a bystander reading it I guess. But glad you're enjoying it. Nothing wrong with reading anything honestly, as long as it's bringing you enjoyment in someway. Helping you escape and all that. 📖☺️

Sufe yes that is what it’s called and I actually knew that but second-guess myself lol. I’ve never gotten into a series like this before especially I think because I’m not a gamer.

I have it in my Audible library but I haven't started reading it yet. Was revisiting some of his short stories from the skeleton crew back at the beginning of the month so might need to give this one a shot here soon especially with Halloween coming up.
