I'm currently rereading preparation for the next life by Atticus Lish. It's what I would classify contemporary fiction, it's a bit dark and gritty, but a good read if you like that kind of stuff. Think NPR book list type of stuff. 🤓📚

Hey KAYOTIC, I think the genre you're looking for is called lit RPG. I tried getting into the DCC universe, but I just couldn't. It felt too much like reading the transcript from a twitch stream, and I would much rather have been playing the game, then being a bystander reading it I guess. But glad you're enjoying it. Nothing wrong with reading anything honestly, as long as it's bringing you enjoyment in someway. Helping you escape and all that. 📖☺️

Sufe yes that is what it’s called and I actually knew that but second-guess myself lol. I’ve never gotten into a series like this before especially I think because I’m not a gamer.

Hey Jim, I can certainly remember this novel (but not completely). I think it's the one where Jane has to endure a lot of abuse from her Uncle and Aunt and she takes a job as a governess and moves to another city, right?

I always love a good dark read. To me the best books are the unsettling ones
