Once we die, we go into a sleep mode until our creator comes back to judges. It's kind of like when you're born, and you have no memory of being born. I believe he protects our minds that way, so he protects us by not letting us remember that transition. There are so many verses that support what I'm saying. For comfort, Job says that the day of man's death is better than the day of man's birth.

At Missy, I strongly and respectfully disagree. The New Testament says man lives, but once dies and is judged. There's nowhere there's spelled out, awaiting period until the second judgment.

This comment is bouncing off of Danatations’ comment about the study suggesting that light or energy is transmitted from people’s eyes while they’re living. I thought it was an interesting idea, especially since the original question was whether we believe people have a soul. I believe we’re made up of energy, or what some traditions call life force energy, and that our energy can extend beyond our physical bodies. I’d never personally heard of it specifically coming from the eyes, but I found the idea interesting. I’ve studied a little bit about Eastern medicine and the chakra system, which teaches that life force energy flows throughout the body and that healing involves restoring or unblocking that flow. The eyes aren’t typically associated with the crown chakra, but the idea reminded me of it because the crown chakra is believed to represent higher consciousness and our connection to the Creator or the divine. It also made me think of the old Catholic paintings of Jesus, Mary, and the saints with the golden halos around their heads. I know many Christians view those halos as representing holiness, while others might see them as symbolic of higher consciousness or spiritual light. I just find it interesting that different traditions sometimes use different language or symbols to describe similar ideas. The comment about metabolizing food producing energy also made me think of something a naturopathic doctor once told me. He encouraged eating living, minimally processed foods because he believed they transfer life force energy to our bodies. Whether that’s viewed from a nutritional, holistic, or spiritual perspective, I do think clean eating gives us more energy. As for the soul, I honestly don’t know whether life force energy and the soul are one and the same or whether they’re two different things. It’s an interesting question to think about. I tried recording this message about three times but I was all over the place so I decided to put my thoughts in writing.

Sky pilot 77, read Daniel 12 at chapter 2. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the Earth shallow awake… Some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt. Jobe 14 12: so man lies down and does not rise till the heavens are no more, they will not be aroused or awakened from their sleep. Psalm chapter 13: consider and hear me oh God, enlighten my eyes less I sleep the sleep of death. There's also that little thing in Samuel when the witch raised him and he said "who arouses me from my slumber."the Messiah has mentioned death as sleep plenty of times in the gospels. I could go on but I think you get my point.

You should also know that I don't put any validity and anything Paul says. His stuff is filled with Greek and Roman influences. It has nothing to do with Hebrew anything. I go off of what the Messiah says and what the Torah and prophets say.
