I'm glad the EU mandated one type of charger for mobile phones which in my opinion forced apple to use USBC like everyone else (even laptops use USBC). The old lightening cables and the way Apple will let other people make them but won't support your phone if you use them (HUH?!) is bad and shows they wanted the control not the quality.

I miss when the phones came with everything you needed. Got my first phone in 2017 and it came with the charger, and a pair of headphones.

I wonder if the Apple representative that you talked about knew what they were talking about because earlier tonight I had to do some stuff with one of our nationwide technology correspondence and I asked him about this. He said the only thing that he has heard of is Apple sometimes denying claims if it's proven that a third-party accessory caused damage to your device. He said that he has never heard this being applied to MFI products that you can buy on Amazon. MFI stands for made for iPhone and it's evidently a really strict program ran by Apple where a manufacturers have to pass a test in order for their products to be certified to be safe to use with iPhones. He did say when it comes to Max that you probably don't want to use a third-party charger and only use Apple stuff for that. I only had a couple minutes to talk to him, so he couldn't elaborate on that.

Yes, the Apple MFI products definitely do have a nice price tag. However they have been reviewed by Apple and meet Apple specifications not harm your battery or internal circuitry. So that's what separates that distinction.
