And when James was going off on me the other day, I was supposed to do the right thing and handle him with kids gloves and treat him like a child and not say anything negative. I was supposed to be sensitive with him and not treat him like he exists in the real world, I was supposed to treat him like he existed in the fabricated world that the blind schools and day programs create for people. And that's just not what I'm about because I live in the real world that everyone else lives in. One of the reasons I'm always talking crap about blind schools is because of what they do to people. While students are in the blind school their sheltered and shielded from the real world and they live in this fake fantasy world that don't exist. But once they age out, the blind school lets them go and they enter the real world yet they're not prepared for the real world because they've never had access to it.

Or they come out here and record themselves filling up their coffee pot or something simple that every single one of us do on a daily basis. And I'm not talking about the folks that unboxed products that were interested in or anything like that, I'm talking about the people who just do really weird stuff. People who record themselves going through a drive-through and ordering fast food which is something I do probably about five times a week. But they record this stuff as if they are the only ones in the world doing it and it's just crazy. But they're still not working or doing anything to try to make themselves more viable as individuals. A lot of of them have personalities that don't line up with the rest of the world, so they don't have anything or any friends in their actual real lives. I once knew a person named Joe who said that anytime sided people come over to his house he puts duct tape on his TV screen so that they can't watch TV like he can't watch TV. Now why would anybody want to be around somebody like that in person? There is a reason that he's spending his life alone with nobody. People who are just awkward to the point where I guess it's a good thing that they're not out there looking for jobs.

Well hey there Angie, so the blind people that I've referenced would be the folks who have always been blind. The people who knew what they were dealing with from day one and just chose to make excuses why they can't do things instead of looking into all of the possibilities available to them and the different things that they can do. I have no clue whatsoever what it is like to be able to see. So I have known since my very first memory in life that I would be navigating life as a blind person. I really saw a lot of things my very first day at the blind school. These things really disgusted me and gave me even more momentum to do more than I was already doing which was a lot anyway. I had total strangers wanting to fill my face among other things that just made me feel so uncomfortable and I never seen those things before. But a lot of these students were full grown adults and had the maturity level in experience of about a nine-year-old. And they seemed to be perfectly content that way. Then they become later adults and argue with each other about whose speech is faster on their iPhone or who can cross the street better. But at the end of the day, they're still not making any kind of an income or providing anything. They attend the NFB convention once a year so they can climb into bed with someone and that's the highlight of their lives. I just couldn't imagine living that way.

Also, we lifers, "totals" that have been blind our whole lives, need to do better by people who have lost their sight. For us, blind is like a fish in water, we're just used to it. And we can't fully appreciate the challenges people go through who lose it, or only have some sight. I know each time I hear from someone who has had sight before, I learn a little more.

Well, that’s just how it works in this community. Most people don’t actually wanna make a difference, they just wanna be superior over someone, because they’re so used to being inferior because of wider society. At the end of the day, Blind people are just people, and most people are frankly gross.

This is one of the main reasons that people have such issue with our current president. He wants to put people to work and make life better for Americans. But that totally conflicts with what society really wants to do these days.

Now you of all people should know better. I know that you've been around for a while, so you would be considered old-school. I know that you've lived through some times where if you wanted something to happen for you you had to get out there and do it and not sit around and wait for others to make everything OK for you. Society today just enables people to do nothing and wait for handouts, make excuses in anything else they can get away with. You just don't see a lot of self-made men and self-made women in society these days. And you surely don't see it in the blind community. It seems like a lot of people are just sitting around waiting for their VR counselors to do it for them.
