Ash, thanks for commenting. I really appreciate your perspective and I completely get where you’re coming from about the shorthand that exists, you definitely want the other person to think you’re competent and not to have to look out for you constantly.

My husband understands me very well I think. I don't see any problems with him being fully sighted and me being blind. It's not a big deal for us. We make it work. As in any relationship good communication helps everything else.
