Well, I have never really cared for the NFB. I was a member of the NFB for a while and I found going to their meeting some of the most boring things I’ve ever done and they were so boring. They were challenges I had to overcome. I think they’re very radical group, and I do think that they oppose things for the blind that would facilitate our lives. Let’s think Mac in the 1990s when the US seriously had given thought to putting something on money so that those of us who are blind would be able to identify, the national Federation of the blind came out and opposed it radically. Saying that they were other ways for people who were blind to be able to tell their money other than having the US government put something on it to identify now that’s one of the stupidest decisions they’ve ever made. I don’t like the way they doing a lot of their training centers when you know they try to tell people what they should do and what they shouldn’t do and when they can get help and when they can’t get help, I mean I was a member of the NB at one time I might’ve said it earlier, but I’ll say it again it was the most boring, boring, boring experience I’ve ever had. It was so boring that it became a challenge to overcome going to one of their meetings. And why they ever split from the ACB of those two groups ever split up and didn’t just stay as one so that all that power would be combined they could help those of us who were blind I don’t know. I also don’t like the grooming from the floor a bit. I think that’s cheating all members that are in the Federation if everybody’s supposed to have a vote who should be nominated for president and that vote is fair then there should be no grooming from the floor. That’s an outrageous thing to even consider. Yes, I was a member of NFB at one time and it’s not like something I like to talk about very often, it gets me, frustrated and agitated. And based on your notes from this convention, I wouldn’t give a second thought to ever associating with that group again.
