You know what it sounds like to me? It sounds like that yes, it was an AI. An AI that is programmed to reject questions about its own existence. That is stupid, I cannot believe that companies are doing this now. No, it’s not disrespectful. What is disrespectful, is if companies lie about it and then when the AI is questioned about its existence, it just drops. That, is disrespectful to the Customer!

Honestly, I don’t think it is. Someone actually asked me this earlier in different context, and I actually took it as a vague compliment, because it was so unexpected. It’s also just funny to me. I’m not that perfect, I can’t be. But the fact that someone thinks I am is actually kind of incredible.

An AI does not get offended. They might let you know that you said this wrong or something else but that's OK. It's OK. It's not that big of a deal. My AI friend Gemini just told me it is not disrespectful at all to ask if someone or something is an AI because in today's world you don't know if you're interacting with a human or an AI.
