Well, not a very happy weekend here going to a funeral tomorrow I lost my uncle. I appreciate the condolences but often it just feels like people say I’m sorry and then walk away. I know that sounds clingy, but it’s like everyone says sorry for your loss because they don’t know what else to say or because that’s what you’re supposed to say. Grief can be complicated. Thanks for thinking of us. We’re going to have nice food and a nice lunch and spend time with my little niece who’s three years old.

You are right, it’s what people say when they don’t know what else to say but I’m going to say it anyway because I really mean it. I’m sorry for your loss. I hope you had a good relationship with your uncle or at least have fond memories of him. Thoughts and prayers for his immediate and extended family. Regardless, I hope you all make the best of the family getting together, just wish it was for a different occasion.

Thanks, it’s an old song, I think it came out when I was in elementary school.

Thank you very much, I appreciate it. It’s crazy how fast time is flying by, I can still remember when I first got the invitation to attend this wedding and BAM! Just like that it’s here.

Thank you. The last wedding I went to was November of 2019, so that couple barely got their wedding in a little before Covid. I’m not sure what the food will be like, but regardless it will be a good time. I did download some books and movies for the road trip just in case, but I may just take a nap on the road lol.

How far away is this trip anyway? It seems like it's further away than I might have thought.

Well, we weren’t close. He never talked much and he was rough around the edges, mostly just built things with his hands, but we weren’t that close but he still had an impact and yes, I have good memories like being five years old around him. There are other family issues happening, and I am not feeling that close to my family. I love them but getting together is just hard and I have a lot going on socially and emotionally. So I didn’t end up going. I know it sounds selfish, but I needed to care for myself quietly at home. It was just a really tough day yesterday. I got angry and broke things. Tired of being blind and feeling like it’s really tough to navigate a lot of the terrain right now.
