Hey there rebecca, the explicit tag is used so users who don't like such language can avoid the posts in question. As your preferense is "sounds stupid" and "unnecessary", your probably generally best ignoring them. Hope that helps.

It sounds to me like you’re looking for a way to block specific users so that way you don’t see their explicit content. Although if you are looking to just ignore explicit content entirely, I can see where that would be useful, but again. Voiceover literally tells you when a post is marked explicit, so you have the freedom to ignore it. there’s also a block button, so if somebody is too explicit all the time and you just don’t want to deal with them anymore, then you can block them. Although, I tend not to use that button as people who are explicit sometimes aren’t, and I’m one who appreciates all language so I don't personally mind an f or s here and there. Language is one very important way of communicating.

honestly, as a joke, it would be funny if the developers put it bleep sensor so every time someone cussed it made a beeping noise kind of like on television. Just a joke though.
