No one is serving any purpose by putting up posts like this. We know that there are negative people everywhere not just on this app. But we continue to bring energy to it when we talk about it and post about it. Do you boo. Block the people. Ignore the ramble. Swipe down to the next one. That's what I do. I'm not a raunchy vulgar person so I do not surround myself with vulgar raunchy content. I keep moving. I swipe down to the nice clean decent post with interesting topics. I tap on them and listen and perhaps I leave a comment. I don't engage in the raunchy stuff. We keep giving this shit energy. We need to stop it. My charge to everyone that reads this comment, do not do not do not post anything negative going forward. Do not do not do not ramble on about some fellow lunatic on this app. Do not do not do not engage and comment and give reactions to the negative post. Do not do not do not stay in the hangout rooms when they become raunchy. Leave immediately. Let's stop giving negative energy to this bullshit. Bullshit is everywhere. I don't have it in my personal life. Do you know why??? Because I don't surround myself with it. I don't hang around raunchy vulgar people. So if it's not an issue in my personal life, it damn sure it's not gonna be an issue on this app. This app is full of wonderful nice people who are out here in the blind community just wanting to meet each other and they have something to say to the world. The lunatics, the weirdos, the troublemakers, the big mouths, the bullies, the pervert, the people who want to split the blind community between the blind and the low vision, I leave it alone and I suggest you do as well. Go forth in peace and 2026 people. No more negative post, OK? 😆

Ewww. This toxic masculinity is sickending. Nasty.

I just block the jerks and move on. It's not exclusive to blind centric platforms, any group of humanity on the Internet has its bad apples. I prefer to stay on the outskirts and not get involved in childish bullshit.

I would actually say, it’s not that we don’t like each other, it’s that we really don’t act like a community. If you compare our disability group to other disability groups, you’ll see that other disability groups have a much more community care vibe about them and we do not. We tend to be very individualistic. This is why I have disability friends outside of the blind community because they have a much stronger community than we do. As for the misogyny, that’s in all applications like this. It is shameful. Like I said in another thread, find your people because there’s a lot of people that use these kind of apps that haven’t examined their intersectionality or they see apps such as this as a game, nothing more.

Just regarding your point about all blind people kind of being thrown together, but not necessarily liking one another, I actually think that you are correct to a certain extent, but it can also be a strength. I have met the most fascinating, completely different, interesting people, just because we happen to have been thrown together due to blindness. They are very different from me, but we are now lifelong friends as a result. So, whilst it has its negatives, it is also possible to regard that sort of forced closeness as a potential positive thing.

That being said its good to see you out here

First of all you use block. Secondly that's not where the blank community is at. That's where that one individual is at. Thirdly thank you for giving me my new band name. Pat diesel in the working holes.

this app is like a radio, you can decide what station you decide to tune into, but you can't decide what's broadcasted on the stations. It doesn't mean you have to destroy the entire Radio.

a great reason to use Block, just blocked someone myself.

You can’t judge the whole Blind community by one man’s comments about women. :-)
