I think for me, the song would be, soon and very soon by Andraé Crouch. Really, any song by Andraé Crouch but I remember that song in particular. My mother used to play his music over and over and over again. His music helped her get through The struggle she was dealing with. His music was a great comfort to her. Although it's been over 50 years since I first heard that music, if I hear it today, it takes me right back there. As I became an adult I would hear those songs and I would sing the lyrics. The songs were pretty simple. But it's amazing how a very simple song could have such an impact in a life. His songs solidified a very important portion of my childhood. His songs were a part of my history. My past. My life and the part of my families transition and relocation from one state to another, from Kentucky to Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Anyway, I'm just saying that his music was such a big and special part of my life. There were good times and bad times but we were OK.
