For those curious, I am South African, and this is a lion reserve about 1.5 hours from where I live. I took my partner here in September 2024 so he could experience the natural world in the same ways I have been privileged to, and this was one of the things we were able to do during our stay.

@Sylvie I'm uploading another cool clip from the walk today, but I have so many recordings of amazing lion roars and I'm happy to share, so I'll make that tomorrow's post. :-)

Honestly, it’s safe to say we were definitely nervous, but by this point, we had been with our Guide for over a day, and she was so levelheaded, and knew exactly what she was about. We completely trusted her basically. As you will hear another recordings that are coming as well, she was really good at visually describing what was going on, so we didn’t miss anything.

I just used a pair of Sennheiser Ambeos in my iphone 13. They were fantastic, but would need an adaptor from USBC to lightning, because there isn't a good USBC alternative. The SP15C is great, but it clips severely in higher noise environments and there is no padding button like with the Ambeos, which makes them difficult to record with.
