  I think Ryan is a dog. Some type of big dog. Loyal and intelligent and pack-oriented with some likes and some dislikes and a good judge of character.

  What about a dolphin? They're intelligent, social but sometimes also spend time alone, communicative, adaptive, self-aware and environmentally aware. They even communicate across language and species barriers.
