Texas is the least free state in the union. No representation whatsoever.

70% of Texans voted in a referendum to make cannabis legal. So, of course, the Texas legislature passed the law making it a felony! Not just a misdemeanor anymore, a felony. I guess they got a lot of for-profit prisons to fill.

Unfortunately, we are in Texas right now, but I have a strong feeling that I will get out sooner or later. I was surprised I haven’t been arrested yet.

Exactly, you think Greg Abbott will be trying to help us, especially since he’s one of us as far as the disabled community goes.

wow, I have never ever thought that I would want to visit the state of Texas. First of all, they love to execute on a win they'll execute anybody. And now with them absolutely defying the majority of Texas and residence and voters in the electric what is the point of people voting if the officials they vote for will not follow the people's will? This is what is going to ruin the democracy. And people are not going to put up with it much longer. You cannot push back on the people when you have a clear referendum of what they have chosen over what you as a politician desire. God bless us all with mercy and send us some people with wisdom and who are in their right minds to govern the country.

Oh great, so people will go back to getting gas station Salvia and God knows what on the streets? What exactly do conservative politicians have against this plant which historically has been proven to cause far less harm than cigarettes and alcohol! This is just insane! And they are not going to solve any problem they're just going to drive it back underground, and People will just do runs into states where it is legal and yeah. Just they are missing out on all this taxpayer money because people will pay for weed. It works in so many other states. Why is Texas so intent on cutting off its nose to spite its face?

I am so disappointed. As a Texan. This breaks my heart. I love Texas food and culture but gosh, I hate the politics.

@Sufe: exactly. I grew up in a state that was totally against it too, and next year recreational will be legal in 2027. … it’s just like the politician said, corruption, big business, I guess they want the Texans to keep overdosing on fentanyl

The prisons get taxpayer money to house the inmates, inmates are then leased out to corporations like Walmart, McDonald’s, and Victoria’s Secret, to work for a dollar an hour. there are huge profits, and some of these profits are used to buy members of Congress and lobbyist to make sure the prisons are full by criminalizing the citizenry for no reason

@Jim,man of GOD, friend to GOD: … I 100% agree, the first three years, that I was there was fun. … I guess mainly because it didn’t feel like Texas with all the other people from the military stationed there with me
