I was upstairs in the rec room. I don't know what I was doing, I just woke up and someone told me everyone was upstairs and the family gathered in the rec room, this big room upstairs and that was it. And it was hard because of course tragedy reminds us to be thankful but coming home after school, being told to be more thankful and not take so much for granted, when I was already battling blindness and trying to find joy in my heart, and it felt so unseen, in light of the view that this world is greedy and selfish, like I had nothing. This tragedy was hard. Unimaginable. But I can 't imagine the mental toll that the invisibility of ingratitude took. WE could mourn the rest of our lives. We could say no one deserves anything. Fact is, no one deserved anything before September 11 001 and no one does to this day.

I was a mile across the water in downtown Brooklyn, New York and I’m from New York so it hit hard. At first, I’m ashamed to admit it, but me and my friends were awed at what happened. I blame movies for desensitizing me. Grim laugh. But then it was very clear very quickly that it was a very serious situation and there was gray foot everywhere and planes flying all day. What a weird time. It lasted about two days.
