What is your social battery like? Is it different in person vs. online?

Socializing energizes me; however, I need to re-charge after doing a lot it, particularly in-person. ON-line-I love to socialize with people there, too; but, don’t need to re-charge as much as in-person. I love good conversation; but, have a strong preference for small-group socialization.

I only like groups of no more than 6 people. Beyond that it starts to overwhelm me. Individual conversations are the best and easiest for me.

I don’t mind larger groups of people for a time, although a smaller group is best. Given the selectivity of most online conversations, having those is usually not a problem; in-person battery time really depends on the individual (s) present, some are easier to interact with than others.

My social circle is very small by choice. I much prefer small gatherings with a few friends, or one-on-one situations, both in person and online. If I am around too many people in public, my battery gets strained so quickly, and it takes quite a while to recharge. I am not in many group settings because I find that after a while, almost inevitably, the groups get bigger, dynamics shift, and I start to feel overwhelmed and spread thin. So I end up taking myself out out of the groups. I can handle far more social interaction virtually that I can in person.

I already told you yesterday when we were talking. But I like in person more than online, small groups are nice. I also like large parties. I’m definitely a extrovert
