Thanks all. As to the horns being strill, the brief, or contract request, was to be 80s realistic and in those times synth horns sounded like that. It made 3 placements so I guess it fit their bill. Lots of 80s sound was very sharp and crystaline, due the technical limitations and the culture of the times.
