I watched the show first, and I loved it. But I also love the books. I think the show has much deeper characters.

The show is definitely a major departure from the books, and you haven't watched the entire series yet. So I don't want to give away too much. But overall, seen and hearing the emotion through the actors makes some scenes hit harder.
