Several years ago when the Assad regime fell, people in Syria said he had died in captivity a long time ago. Many news sources declared him dead. But his family rejected these claims and Biden said the reports couldn't be substantiated or something like that. Till this day he's still reported as missing.

Okay, so I guess now I don't have to listen to the podcast? Honestly I know nothing about it. NPR just put this new report out and that's when I just heard about it so I'm guessing this is sort of a new story that they are putting out there. Or I mean it's an updated follow-up to what maybe other people knew, that I didn't know at all about.
