with that said, we will never be able to escape some sort of stigma being blind, simply because it is not the norm. Everything we do is kind of weird to the sighted world.

I've never been resentful of the weird blind people, because I never considered myself lumped in with them. I learned to appreciate retards when I was first introduced to the blind community as just funny and quirky. Although I do prefer to appreciate them from afar, like 30 feet or so, so I can observe the show, but not be associated with the retard in question.
