This may be totally irrelevant, but I noticed that Ramblio downloads the entire post as soon as you double tap on it. So basically if a person only listens to 30 seconds of a 10 minute post, the entire 10 minutes is downloaded. Wouldn’t it be better, from a bandwidth usage perspective, if only several more seconds of audio is buffered? I believe that is how YouTube works, for example.

Speaking for myself, I vote for the advanced option. It seems more comprehensive to me. And, frankly, it gives more options and more flexibility.
Casey
I really have to applaud you for being so upfront and transparent. That shows great leadership, and I have a feeling this app is going to be a lot of fun in the coming years. It is already.
Casey
I think it really comes down to what you need, and what you're using this app for. Myself personally, unless things change, I mostly see myself just sticking to the basic plan. But who knows. That could change but, I usually don't listen to messages that are more than five minutes, nor do I record any longer than five minutes. Usually anyway. It's all a matter of what you need and what you use this for.
Eddie
I vote for the advanced list. There are more options and more flexibility with the pricing structure.

Hi Josh. Thank you for this, and again for all your hard work and ideas to give everyone a choice. As others have said, unless there are other features included, personally i wouldn’t have need for any of these subscription plans, as the 10 minutes recording time and 15 minute cool-down is perfect for me, however i would still be happy to make a contribution. I don’t tend to listen to very long content either, so posts that are an hour/2 hours long wouldn’t really be of interest to me from a listening point of view. I hope you have a lovely Christmas, and thank you again for all you are doing.
Raymond Gay
My comment might come off as rude but it is not how I’m intending it. I think the advanced plan is reasonable. Setting a limit on hangouts also makes sense, since otherwise people could use them to work around the 10 minute recording limit by staying on longer in hangouts.

I like the advanced list best. More options and all that. Are these prices in pounds or USD or what.
Earle Zwicker
I'm all for the advanced option. It provides more flexibility. It really isn't that hard to understand. If people have problems understanding it, they can just look at the pricing structure step by step, and they will figure it out, I'm sure.

Yes, my attention span will not allow me to listen to anything over about three or four minutes in length. It's just the way I've always been unless it's really interesting.

Recording past 10 minutes is kind of a big deal, right? Honestly, I’d bet most people don’t even listen past 5 minutes, and the metrics would probably back that up. Speaking of metrics—can we see post metrics in here at all? Also, getting blind folks to pay anything is going to be a real challenge. If it were up to me, I’d make it mostly free. Here’s what I’m thinking: Make it free with a 10-minute limit per post , maybe 30 minutes total comment time per day . Let people really try it, no pressure. Then, if someone wants more than that—longer posts, more time, fewer limits—it’s $10 a month . The paid tier subsidizes the free one. Everybody gets access, and the people who get real value help keep the lights on. if you want a free non creater plan maybe 3 bucks a month would do it,

Advanced gives more flexibility (and really more for less), in my opinion, hence why I may choose that if I was to ever do longer-form content on here, though I can also see offering the basic one as another choice for those not very frequently recording long-form content (above 10 minutes, of course). Thank you for all you do. One of these days I'll figure the payment out! :) Take care!

I believe the $2.99, $5.99, $7.99 and $9.99. Plan structure would work very well. I think it would give some of the people who have a lower fixed income and opportunity to get the premium services
Shelley
That sounds like it's correct.

Hey. I realize this might be unrelated. However, I'm new to this. I'm using the website. Is there a way to record rambles or send messages on the website?
The Anti Christ Super Star
I personally think if you did like I recommended when we first spoke in the early hangouts, charge anywhere from $.99 to $1.99 a month flat fee, compared to similar apps with subscriptions, this one beats all the rest hands down. I truly believe people would pay that much because this app is worth way more than that a month. I don’t think you would have that much churn. I mean seriously people are willingly paying five dollars a month for a piece of shit at with the developer that doesn’t give a fuck about their thoughts wishes, or fealings. then there’s another app that charges you over five dollars a month to what drop you in random rooms you don’t wanna be in and give you the ability to listen anonymously.
Feisty Filipina Sunshine
I think these plans are great and I appreciate all your updates that you give us. I think that it’s such a great idea to have different tears that you can Taylor to whatever someone wants to use the app for, and how often they want to use it. Is the cool down. Going to be the same for each tier? Great job on this app and keep up the great work!

i vote for the more advanced modle. but is it x amount each day, week or month?
🍌Johnny
Just remember everyone, when sending a voice message to someone, don’t exceed ten minutes because it doesn’t stop recording and it will not get sent and it will be deleted, and you will need to do it over again, carefully.
LuisXavier
Thank you for all your hard work and we appreciate your dedication and consideration. I like the advanced plan, since it has more options. For the time being I’d stick to the free plan since the time limits aren’t an issue for me, but depending on the future features I’d subscribe to a tear, maybe emojis or other kinds of things like that…
International Friends Network
This also makes sence, in that the maximum upload in time allowed on suno AI is 8 minutes per single upload.
International Friends Network
Don't worry Josh, we've always tried to work within the limits on here. Our plans are to keep within those limits our selves. And anything we do upload prier to publishing to our main sound cloud page, witch goes out via RSS to other platforms. Keep up the great work as always Josh, we all here at IFN appreciate your efforts, as always.
Gothic Faerie
So I never go over 10 minutes. I still plan on donating in the future. I don’t think I’ll ever get a subscription unless other features are added onto it, but if I did, I would choose the advanced options that seems to be more fitting for people.
Marissa C
I have no idea why some of you think he has time to sit here and listen to answers that are three minutes long. Come on now. To answer your question Josh I think you’re being more than fair with the free 10 minute recordings honestly I think you should make that less although I know you’re too nice to do it so that’s really great for people to take advantage of, and I hope that you honestly add more incentive for people to subscribe to the plans because most of us have no desire to record that long, but of course, lots of us would love to support you. Would love more premium features this app as well worth supporting and I appreciate your hard work. Hopefully these plans will generate a little money for you. Seems like most people would like the Advanced plans the more choice the better and look forward to seeing where hangouts goes. I personally enjoy the hangouts and would be happy to support the app to continue using them.
DJMixMastaJam
I have no problem with either of the structured plans just as long as you provide users with an easy way to opt out should their finances change. Allowing people to unsubscribe and then resubscribe as their needs change would be the best route to take.

Text comments are probably easier to manage with posts that generate as many comments as these will. If I was going to post something that was going to generate a ton of comments I would much rather than be text because I could get through them much faster.
King Tripple Whopper
No you can comment either way still meaning a text comment or record an audio comment.

Either option sounds reasonable. I do wonder how workable the 2.99 option will be after Apple/Google take their cut assuming the plan is to use in-app purchases. I’d be tempted to pay for AI transcripts of longer posts or AI post summaries similar to what jacket.fm had. I suppose varying audio quality across tiers could be an option if perhaps a bit controversial.

Another thing that makes this app unique is that the android users haven't been left behind. It seems like so many apps that have been available I have only been available for iOS users including the big ones like Be My Eyes for a long time. But this app has only been live since November 1 and now there's a live version for android users as well. So there are a lot of reasons to help support this app and to ensure it's long life.
Da Rainbow Girl 🏳️🌈
Voting for the advanced version, although I think it would be good to offer one time purchases for people who might need it only one time for one upload. That way it can be kind of like a credit system. just an idea though, and that might make it even more complicated.
Allie Turner
Lol Jim, go listen to his post again. He's not taking the free version away. it's gonna stay here for those that don't wanna pay.
