I've had bad luck with reliability connecting from computers to Echo devices, but I have not tried from a phone. Bluetooth works fine for me if I'm making the Echo play through something else, but not so much if I want to play something else through the Echo. Unfortunately though, all I can give you is this data point; I never really tried to fix it. I just stopped trying to do it lol.
