AI, Computers And Other Mathy Things Are really Weird When It Comes To Harmonic Analysis Of A Track

The first long chord is major to me, but the second chord is absolutely minor to me. I hear, D natural, F natural, A natural, which is a plain D minor chord. I don't hear an A minor chord, but I instinctively regard what I heard of the piece as a D minor key overall, the first chord sounds secondary to the D minor chord. Not sure if that helps any lol.
So when you describe that it does make sense, but the AI called it A minor. If it said D minor I would have understood. Also this is kind of an Italian Folk / Catalon technique based on the inversions but I wouldn’t expect the AI to know it. I’m sure there’s a method to the madness but it eludes my brain. I actually wish someone like you could see into their source code because you would understand things about it that people like us who write for them don’t know. In the long run it’s not a big deal because we are supposed to update the fields, and I always do, but I thought key signature stuff would be the easiest thing for a computer.

I understand how I’ve fooled a computer using whole step notation common in film scores typical of horor and mystery genres, and I’m actually impressed they have a service that we can pitch our stuff to all these different libraries, and it can even detect somewhat often what instruments we’re using, unless we’re using some Eastern instruments it hasn’t heard of yet, or however it hears of things.

I wonder how it would react to the likes of Harry Partch and his totally independent tunings and instrument designs and such.

If you worked at That Pitch, you no doubt would be able to tell us how it figures things out. That Pitch is a combination of AI to do basic work plus human curators to audition / accept or reject submissions and pass them on to relevant music libraries in the creator economy, very much a great thing for us instrumental musicians not seeking followers, but just seeking quality placements. Would be fascinating if you could see inside of them and explain it to the rest of us who are just music producers.
