Yeah James, I'm with you. How dare people call or text me and ask me how I'm doing every so often. How dare they express that they're interested in my existence and might genuinely wanna know how I'm doing. I don't know what this female friend is telling you, but it's not just a female thing to ask questions. Anyone who's interested or just friendly will ask how you're doing. And if that person has your number, I assume you gave it to them because you wanted them to reach out to you every so often. Imagine how you would feel if you went months and months with your phone sitting there silent. It'd probably be a pretty isolating experience and might make you appreciate someone just asking you an innocuous question like how are you doing. Like seriously, if you honestly want to tell this person how you're doing, then tell them. If not, leave them unread, or answer with a noncommittal fine or whatever. But your post was long and rather circular so maybe I'm missing the point. Or perhaps you're missing the point. not sure either way, but keep it onion.🙃
