My father used to talk about that stuff back in the 70s and 80s, "train set" they called it. With the steel track, the transformer, etc. My father is now almost 85, I had no idea that hobby was still around. "Tammy's Hobbies" was one store he used to frequent, if memory serves. So if it's going through a revival, that would be interesting for you to tell us. Not in the hobby myself but I do know it was very much a niche thing when I was a kid.

Guessing all that would be worth some money these days. The Matchbox cars we carelessly played with, left out in the rain, and ran through the wash several times, would be worth something these days too, at least if there are any who are in good condition lol
