How do I not automatically be subscribed to a question if I reply to it

The only way I found so far is to mute that afterwards, I don't think there's a way that you can prevent it

I’m gonna test Rachel‘s idea using this thread. I do not however expect it to succeed. But I’m going to try anyway.

OK. So here’s what happens when you press the subscribe button after you’ve commented on the comment it opens the window which gives you several options mute indefinitely is the right most option. And it is the one you pressed if you want to not ever be notified of any more comments on the thread. HTH.
