I wonder if people are sensitive directly due to their trauma. If I had stayed where I was when I was little I never would have grown. But the people who taught me as a blind from birth person were human beings, imperfecti with issues. I know trauma. I also know from ten and up being told you're too sensitive. Some of the most sensitive people, if they're not clingy or always giving others advice, can be some of the most gifted people ever.
