Oh man, ACOTAR. I should reread those. I wasn't fussed about the romance the first time, but I liked the tournament / trial thing she goes through in the first one, and I loved the relationship shift from book 1 to book 2. The series you start with definitely isn't the one you end with, though I only read the first three. Last romantasy I read by accident was Fourth Wing, because dragons as military vehicles was advertised, and you can't threaten a girl with taking dragons to battle and not deliver. It was a similar thing with ACOTAR. You can't threaten a girl with fairy politics and not deliver. And yet, in a way, both did, because the leads were too busy looking at boys to do much else.

see I did the fourth wing series 1st two books really fast then haven't finished the third one as I struggled with it

I read the first two books back to back, but I sort of forgot there was a third one. Maybe I should buy a bottle of wine and revisit the whole thing.
