Always nice to meet a fellow blind Linux user. definitely not as widespread as I wish it was. But anyway, very interesting to hear that KDE is accessible in your experience. Last time I checked, which granted is going back a bit, it was fairly problematic, especially with its native apps. But, maybe it’s time to give it another try. And also, interesting to hear that the I3 tiling manager is accessible as well. That has definitely been on my list to try out.

Oh yeah, I wish it was more widespread. as well. The I3 window manager is accessible if you use the Stormux Linux distribution. In fact, it’s the default desktop option on the latest ISO image what do you use?

@chase I have generally stayed under the Debbie and branch, cycling mostly between Debbie and and Ubuntu. I did run mint for a while, and definitely tried out PopOS as well. Currently, I am running ubuntu 226.04 because of the stated increased compatibility with Wayland, which is definitely very much improved. I definitely do have Fedora on my list at some point, and when I ever get the time and energy, I would definitely like to try out arch.

HM, Ubuntu might be worth testing out, although I’ve never been a fan of the gnome desktop unless there’s a way to change the off-control tab functionality and the overall layout

I use Ubuntu 26.04 because I want to stay in Wayland since it's taking over the world lol. I hear Mate is good but I am using Gnome because I have the impression that it gets accessibility fixes quicker than anything else. I have not messed with Arch but it sounds interesting.

What the heck, maybe I should try Ubuntu. What’s the harm, right?

OK, this is insane. This is almost 7 GB file. I don’t know what they have preloaded, but this is definitely bigger than most images that I’ve used.

It is a large file size. But it’s also Debbie in like in that regard. You have the option during install to only install the minimal components.

Welcome so far, so good! Ubuntu 26 is really nice. Is there a way to make the apps in an alphabetical order? when you all control tab to it?

Interesting question. Never thought about that particular use case myself. That being said, I am not obviously aware of a way to do that. It wouldn’t surprise me if they were was a way to do it. But I don’t know it.

may I ask, where are we now in the process? I forgot to share, I use raspberry pi OS with I38 because rpiDesktop is a bit of a bitchington. But? I need a good screenless allowing wayland desktop or something because I don't like plugging screens in my computers if I don't have to. I guess that's what fitheadless is for, in which i' one on the fedora'd pc which is a beelink ser5. My raspberry pi i3 machine is the 16GB pi5 I got back when they were subjectively cheep. I've got eloquence on both linux's. LXTerminal too.

Have you tried odilia yet? I hear it's built for speed which would be welcome. My last GUI linux experiences were unwelcome at best and that was with good hardware. Still in very basic alphas according to the gh page

Never heard of that before. What gooey did you try with Linux? That’s the only bad part is it’s kind of dependent on which one is which
