Vision is a far more efficient sense than is touch, when it comes to acquiring information about the condition of elements of your body. Shaving is an excellent example, and that you have to move your fingers around an area, to be sure that all of the hair has been removed, whereas a person who can see the skin will know instantly if they have missed a spot

What an interesting post. Mirrors are visual aids. They're no different from a blind person using tactile aids like tags as a system to identify their clothes, etc. There's also a big difference between how something feels and how it looks. For example, a moustache that feels even might look crooked. And you can check your appearance from different angles like your profile. Also, when I was sighted, sometimes having a mirror helped me match or mismatch my clothes with the mood I woke up in.

A lot of cited people think that we are just absolutely amazing and that we have all of these gifts from God like better hearing than everybody else. But when the power goes out, they seem to hear every little detail just like we do on a daily basis then it finally clicks in their mind that we're not amazing and above everybody else with this better hearing than everybody else has.

It's really funny watching sided people who do rely on their site so much. When the power first goes out they're absolutely lost and have no clue how to get to where they're going in the house. But once the power has been off for a couple of hours, they navigate just fine when they have to. And I simply take that opportunity to say "C, this is how we do it "then they will reply with something like ok now I understand didn't know I could really do that.
