I do not think any one has said that to me. But if they did, I would disagree with them. Good post though, it made me think.

For a minute there I was confused. I thought you were referring to yourself and talking to us since you may have had just a visual impairment that caused you to see some things. I know people have done this. What I don’t like and people are getting a bit better but what I don’t like is that people come up to me sometimes and they say well here is what we see or here is how we usually do things here is how we cut food. I don’t know why I guess it’s just the way they say it. It makes me feel like an alien from outer space and they are all the human ones. My choir friend who gives me ride is amazing and I’ve got to have gratitude for her in my heart. But she used to say to me, well I know you can’t read the music you can’t see so how could you read it and then laugh about it. She didn’t understand but still it’s like does it have to be that obvious

I am very thankful I was never told this by any sighted person. If they did, I wouldn’t hesitate to call BS on it or otherwise ask them how eyesight figured into it at all.
