La Llorona, which is aSpanish/Latin American ghost legend, La Llorona tells of a woman who lost control of her emotions and caused the death of her own children. Her story is used to explain mysterious sounds near rivers or lakes—her cries for her children are said to haunt the water at night. It is about the consequences of anger, despair, and neglect, and it has been passed down through generations as both a ghost story and a moral lesson.

in the 80s and 90s when I grew up, there was a persistent legend called blue star. It was supposed to be a really cheap tattoo the kind you would find in a cracker jack box or a pack of gum. But the blue star was allegedly laced with LSD. I can remember when I was a kid. They actually had a warning at school about this. Years later, I read online the whole thing was a hoax.
