I agree with the one when she says that Trump‘s function is to distract us from what’s really important. I definitely disagree with Tyler that we somehow lack character if we care about that. I also disagree with those who think these problems are going away the minute Trump is gone, this is a bigger systemwide breakdown that was here before Trump took power and will not be solved with his departure.

He’s the president for fuck sake. He’s supposed to be educated, diplomatic and eloquent! We’re suppose to take seriously what he says. He runs the most powerful, or what used to be the most powerful nation in the world! Yet he talks and acts like just some street thug. And because of all the shit he talks no one respects the US anymore. Even if you don’t plan to nuke a country you can’t just throw threats like that! I guess I get the gist of your post, but I still think it’s very self-destructive to minimize a fascist dictator who claims to be divine. Lots of people are already dying from the fascism that we are experiencing, and just because it has happened in the past doesn’t make that any better.
