This is also a good point. I love this. I try to mix it up but always come back to Reed specifically. I hate the other ones. I tried sandy but it annoys me.

I know what you mean about Fred not being intelligable. I like him for user interface and webpages I use a lot. I slow him down to read other stuff and have had it good so far. I wonder if they have improved him as he sounds slightly less weird for me in the newer versions of MacOS. Alex is too much for me and I find I get tired of his voice, like my ear gets fatigued. Samanta is better than Alex IMO, but not for the exclamation stuff as Diego pointed out.
