    When I looked to see hangout titles, either I’m not impressed, or if light check out the content, I don’t like being pounced upon instead of giving me a minute or so to figure out if I want to participate in the conversation, unless there’s a way to automatically be in the audience that I don’t know about.

    I like that personally. Obviously if you're gonna go talk you're gonna have to talk lol I don't need to be prepped for that. It's a given that you're gonna have to talk if you literally click on hangouts.

    @Katya, unless something's changed since I've been in a hangout, you automatically start out in the audience. You have to be let into the chat. I can't remember if you can put yourself back in the audience, but a lot of people don't like lurkers. It's as if you're just eavesdropping. Others might not mind it. You could just say that you'd prefer to listen for a while.
