I like watching paranormal stuff on YouTube haunted stuff listen to scary ghost stories like the narrators and stuff like that I believe it in a little bit but I have to say something couple years back. I was on clubhouse Right, but I don’t talk to these people anymore. There was a girl that joined the room and I still remember this shit up to today lol since you brought up this topic, this person said that they worship ghost by leaving food and water for them and I’m like don’t got no words to say

Well, my sister believes in ghosts I asked her once and she said yes, she does. She's got some ghost stories that literally happened to her. I myself have never had anything happened to me, but I have had things happen right here in my room where I'm at right now. I had a Windows PC that would literally turn on by itself at night no joke. My five disc CD changer would literally close on its own without me doing anything I firmly believe it was my dad trying to tell me something although I don't know I've heard a stories of songs playing when you at least expected them to play. Pardon the dictations.. Always fascinated I'm always fascinated by the paranormal. I've seen a show called the Haunted, which is really interesting people that have actually experienced ghosts. There is a hotel up in New England the Cambridge hotel I'm not sure if it's still open or not, but it is Haunted . I mean places like that can be haunted. No one knows why they're there, but maybe they have unfinished business that they did not complete when they were alive or maybe if it's a negative spirit they feel you know like they were driven out of the place. They knew it's hard to really explain or say. I may be a Christian, but I too am fascinated by the paranormal

I don’t think ghosts are real in the way movies perceive them to be, but I think there’s some sort of unseen beings out there in my opinion or I might just be fried RN

I appreciate all of your answers and openness to have convo about your beliefs peacefully with me. Just want to also express appreciation for all of us being able to disagree on some things and still educate each other. If I said all of the things I wanted to reply to from this it would be too long for anyone to pay attention to lol. Don’t worry about feeling a little off-topic, I’m glad we all were able to discuss more about religion, tradition, the afterlife. I was hoping we could include this in the discussion. From what I know a lot of cultures do include the wake tradition, and even here in the US there is a tradition in a lot of our ghettos to pour out some liquor after someone has passed on to send them off the right way. To the person that said a ghost grab their ass in their house when they were high, that definitely made me laugh 😂 not to say it didn’t happen to you, but that was just a funny story I wasn’t expecting. I have to give that channel a look, Answers in gennisus youtube. speaking about where we get right from wrong. I think our sense of right and wrong comes from our local culture, which is of course informed by the wider Global culture of humanity, but could that be done by evolution without religion? I think religion gives us a standard, even across different religions. There seems to be a moral standard so maybe that’s one of the most sacred things we’ve gotten from religion overtime. Did someone invent vampires? Maybe they’ve been passed down like other stories throughout our generations, it does beg the question of why they remove certain books from the Bible. I’ve also heard of a group of people long before our society called the Sumerians that are rumored to have lived underwater and had technology to the level we do today and maybe beyond. Ghost shows are very interesting to me, I’ve enjoyed them when I’ve watched them. But with my recent skepticism, I look at them in a different way even while I have a lot of interest in holding onto my faith. I’m in no way looking to be an atheist or tried proving a lack of divinity, again just curious. But I wonder if these ghost shows will ever be looked at in the same light as some of those telephone psychic scams that were happening in the late 90s. I work with music and sound effects for a living, so I’ve seen the way. Some of these ghost shows are made, so when I watch them, it’s kind of like breaking the fourth wall because I can tell sometimes that the audio clips everyone is reacting to very fearfully aren’t real. Even if they present the story as happening some fair few years ago in a place far away, making it look like an historic account, the other smoke and mirrors type effects make me question the credibility of these stories. Unfortunately, sometimes I feel like people are overly willing to believe in something because we miss someone that has passed on, so we give a lot of information to someone and they can pray on that information telling us things we wish we could hear. And then they could bring in police detectives, someone usually rooted in verifying evidence here in our tangible world to try to make it feel even more real. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of those paranormal radio shows did have recordings of things happening, and called it ghosts, or maybe even made some things up themselves. I’ve definitely seen relationships faked on radio shows just to get more listeners, why would people think religion is off-limits. I have heard of people leaving out food for a ghost, I’m curious if it ever is gone the next day? Hopefully your pets don’t get to the glass of wine you leave out for your goddess of choice lol. Dan, you had some interesting points about how spirits and ghosts are viewed in the Bible, especially them being in wine. I do find it interesting that Christians are divided on that subject as Lucera said. Doug, you definitely spoke about free will in an eloquent way. Said a lot of things I was trying to say there. It’s the most powerful choice we have, yet we still must invite the spirit of God into our lives to inform everything we do, every choice we make. I also appreciate the perspective of us looking at texts with a faith inspired mentality, I heard a lot of self accountability in that message, we have to make the choice to invite the divine spirit into our way of doing things, but shouldn’t we try to also vet our sources as much as we can to make sure it’s not just a confirmation bias with what we know? Like I’m curious about the objective reality in religion. I appreciate the point Lucera made about observational science being able to arrive at new conclusions. To a degree most facts are subjective if you give them long enough time to change, like 200 years ago, the fastest way for information to travel was vastly different. I guess that’s another point of curiosity for me, is it seen as taboo or impossible to find the objective commonalities in religion? Shouldn’t we as religion or different religions try to compare notes historically so we can all live accurately as one human society? Like maybe not saying we should have a one world government or faith, but at least be able to all acknowledge what we’ve come to understand collectively about the supernatural and spiritual worlds. Like there’s no counter argument to the fact that if you put your hand in a fire, it will burn you, does it defeat the purpose of religion for us to find these types of commonalities spiritually?

Hey there Question ATL, I see you pretty much closed out this thread with your last comment, but I really enjoyed your post and the discussion, so I wanted to add my two cents. I guess I don’t have a whole lot to add because my beliefs are actually pretty similar to yours. I also tend to believe that God is in all things, and I lean toward the idea that heaven and hell are not literal places but more of a state of being or state of mind. That can get a little complicated, though, because there are people who aren’t able to escape their own hell, whether due to mental illness or a horrific disability. But anyway, I’m starting to go off on a tangent. I do think about the idea of heaven being a real place sometimes. I remember hearing a quote by John Green: “Without pain, how would we know joy?” It’s an interesting thought. If heaven were a place without suffering, would we eventually get bored? Would the feeling of joy lose some of its meaning if there were no hardship to contrast it with? It’s kind of fascinating to think about. I’ve had a pretty interesting spiritual journey. I spent years in different Christian denominations, some more intense than others, but that’s not really the point of my comment. What I find interesting is that when I was a Christian, I used to have dreams about demons chasing me or trying to attack me. At the time, I genuinely believed demons were after me. Looking back now, after changing my beliefs, I wonder if those dreams were really connected to my own fears. Maybe my fear of demons simply worked its way into my dream state. I’ve also looked into Buddhism a bit and find the idea of reincarnation interesting. These days, I no longer believe in a literal Satan or literal demons. My views are actually pretty similar to yours. I do think people can struggle with their own “demons”—psychological challenges, unresolved trauma, fears, or things they project outward into the world. But no, I’ve never actually seen a demon. As for spirits, I do have a bit more belief there. I’ve had some interesting experiences throughout my life. When I think of spirits, I think more of souls who were once here and have passed on, maybe sticking around for a reason, or perhaps ancestors looking out for us. As far as my ancestors and loved ones who have passed on, I hope I’ll always be comfortable talking to them. As far as leaving out food for spirits, though, I’m not going to be giving them my last piece of cake. 😂

God bless you brother. You're doing great, though you said you're new to the faith! Just thought I'd drop a bit of encouragement as I am up doing laundry at 1:00 a.m like a "haunted" person ll
