As you may recall, Trump launched a mobile phone company—T1 Mobile—back in June of last year with a phone that was advertised as “a sleek, gold smartphone engineered for performance and proudly designed and built in the United States” that we made sure to make fun of right away because: 1) the $500 gold Trump phone turned out to be a REVVL 7 Pro 5G that was made in China and retailed for $170 on Amazon 2) the coverage map on the Trump Mobile website still had Trump's "Gulf of America" listed as the "Gulf of Mexico," the way God intended. When it was revealed this was actually a Chinese phone, Eric Trump went on a PR damage-control press tour clarifying that it was “designed with American values in mind” and “shaped by American innovation” that COULD—hypothetically speaking—eventually be built in America some day. The website said the phone weren't quite ready JUST YET, but you could reserve yours for just $100. Nearly 600,000 MAGA idiots—who still hadn't figured out after 40 years and hundreds of grifts that every new product Trump launches is a grift—did exactly that and paid the 100 bucks to reserve their tacky gold Chinese phone. The promised delivery date was August, then it got moved to September, then November, then December, then Q1 2026, then it got removed from the website entirely. ELEVEN MONTHS LATER, it turns out the "made-in America" Chinese phones weren't even made in China. Apparently, they weren't made ANYWHERE. Not a single one of those phones has been delivered. Now, all those poor schmucks are outraged because they just discovered the Trump Mobile website CHANGED their Terms & Conditions on April 6 to say that the $100 deposit they paid wasn't actually a "deposit"—it was a (non-refundable) "conditional opportunity" to purchase the phone...IF it ever made it to market. From the Trump Mobile website: "DEPOSIT PURPOSE A preorder deposit provides only a conditional opportunity if Trump Mobile later elects, in its sole discretion, to offer the Device for sale. A deposit is not a purchase, does not constitute acceptance of an order, does not create a contract for sale, does not transfer ownership or title interest, does not allocate or reserve specific inventory, and does not guarantee that a Device will be produced or made available for purchase. Priority opportunities, if any, are generally based on the date and time the deposit is received; however, Trump Mobile reserves the right to adjust allocation or timing for fraud prevention, geographic distribution, regulatory compliance, production allocation, or operational requirements. Trump Mobile reserves the right to refuse, limit, or cancel preorder participation for any reason, including suspected fraud, resale activity, bulk purchasing, geographic restrictions, or violation of these Terms. Deposits are intended for end-user customers only and may not be placed for resale, redistribution, or commercial bulk purchase purposes. NO BINDING SALES CONTRACT A binding sales contract is formed only if all of the following occur: (1) Trump Mobile makes the Device available for sale; (2) you complete checkout; (3) you submit full payment; and (4) Trump Mobile accepts and successfully processes payment. Until those conditions are satisfied, no enforceable agreement for purchase exists." That's right, Donal Trump just made 60 MILLION DOLLARS selling his window-licking Red Hats an "opportunity to buy a phone" that doesn't exist.
