I wonder if that person who said it would all go in the same place, I wonder if she just doesn’t like being told what to do rather than the method itself kind of like touching faces. Like I would probably prefer myself if somebody said do you need to know where your food is or the directions on the clock and then they say yes or no, give them power of choice kind of thing. Well, I think the clock method is better than left and right, especially for blind people to point inside people who say things are over there. Then you could ask them over where, like over on the clock? Instead of getting them confused with left and right

Think of a clock with hands or if you know braille a braille watch. Imagine you're trying to find a cup of coffee on a table. Using the clock method, you'd picture the table as a clock face, with 12 o'clock straight ahead and 6 o'clock behind you. If someone tells you the coffee is at 3 o'clock, you'd run your hand to the right side of the table, like you're pointing to the 3 on a clock. As you move your hand, you'd feel for the cup, using your sense of touch to locate it. The clock method helps create a mental map, making it easier to navigate and find things in your surroundings.

Actually I remember in elementary school the teacher took down a clock from the wall removed the plastic cover so I could feel the clock hands, fantastic way to learn it. I’ve been to grand central station and wow, that must take some real mobility training to get around that place. Totally understand why North and South would be important there.

Well, if you mean when people describe perhaps things on your plate, yeah, I think it's cool. I appreciate it. Perhaps if you've never seen a clock before it might be a little confusing or not make much sense or not have much meeting. But I have seen and Analog clock before with the hands and all that. I get it. It makes sense. It's very helpful to me

Honestly I can’t think of a better method but I’m horrible at knowing what direction I am facing, I know some of you are a walking compass but that is not me LOL! Left and right just isn’t precise enough for me and clock directions can be used for food on a plate or finding your way to a door. So, I’ll stick with the clock until the kids no longer remember how to read an analog clock because everything is going digital you know?

I do not mind the clock method when it comes to food or things on the counter or whatever, it actually is helpful, but I’ve had friends who appointed out that like especially with food. It’s all going to go in the same place anyway your stomach or whatever so why bother? And then I had this thing happen with orientation when it was like the bus stop is at 12 o’clock And I found that really really difficult to orient to at first because I never understood growing up and then one time, my niece‘s mom and I tried it and she got it overnight and all of a sudden it was like she said there’s a guy about your 9 o’clock he’s coming towards you and I got it right away and the orientation was fabulous so I don’t know I’m kind of mixed myself on it especially because by the time my family is like your hand is at 12. Your potatoes are at six. I’m scattering food around my plate anyway and eating everything differently so It’s like the clocks mixed up anyway poor guys.
