    Trish's advice to limit alcohol intake is quite solid based on what I can find. The cause of the redness though is probably not a blood pressure spike. Especially if you, Mandy, are of East Asian ancestry, the cause may be something else; but again, Trish's advice still applies even if that is the case. If this red-skin surprise concerns you or happens again, asking a doctor about it would be a good next step if you have a chance to do that.
