As far as I know apple still does make the iPad minis. I've never owned an iPad, never really had the need for one. I actualy just got a mac that was given to me by a friend of mine that's still like brand new, m2, 22, macbook air. Just wished it had more ram and more ssd space but it'll do for now I think.

Yes, you would need a second eSim for the iPad. The eSim is a virtual sim card, so you need to generate a new one for each device.
