Well, there is this new one that’s being developed, it’s ran over on GitHub. Not sure if you’ve heard of it, but it’s called TG speech box. It’s actually not too bad.

I’m gonna be very honest, eSpeak is one of the poorest engines I’ve ever come across! Very poor when it comes to multilingual architecture, and overall it’s really just a mess. Not to mention, I actually wrote an issue on the official GitHub page, and nothing has been done about it. I’ve pointed very specifically what needs to be done to the engine to make it far more intelligible! So yeah, there is just no way I’m gonna use it. There’s a lot of things wrong with the engine.
