Most rambles here don’t get any engagement, very few replies. Why?

Ultimately I think it’s because there are not enough people on here. In order to find others with shared interest do you need a larger membership. But I also think that it’s hard for anyone post to get traction because there is no answer feed in real time.

I also think people are not good at responding to answers on their own posts. And, lots of people use this as a diary of their day to day habits and are happy to just get a couple responses from people they connect with about their Dailey Journal post. Then there is also the problem of how people refuse to title their posts, and refuse to get to the point when they are recording. Maybe there’s a bit of a tempo problem that has to do with the app but also with some of the way people are posting?

If everybody posted the way they title their hangouts it would be a very different app lol

I second Dan’s point about the answers feed. Or, lack there of. If you don’t catch good rambles on time, they are far below on the feed. Good meaning, the ones you find interesting and want to or have something to comment.

As far as new features, I still believe that having a trending feed or an answer feed is probably the single most important feature to promote engagement and membership.

And yes, it will increase the drama levels as well but if it’s just one feed then people can opt out

It might also be helpful to hear the number of comments on any given post right up front so you don’t have to wait till the very end of the title and the date it was posted

I know people have strong feelings about the react feature, but I wish that more people would react even when they don’t post because that also boosts engagement in certain ways

It’s communicative

Also, if you break one sentence up into 100 replies then it will look like the thread is very active lol. Sorry for spamming your thread

Dan26, no worries about spamming my thread. You’re probably giving me a greater chance in winning the audio mo prize. Lmao

I don’t really know the reasons. There are several factors but I hope that people aren’t being super ultra competitive about the audio mo contest and intentionally not engaging with other posts to not give the advantage to others cuz that would be very petty lol. I do think that there are so many posts currently that posts are getting lost in the main feed. Also there are some people who only check their following feed and not the all users feed so even less people r aware of all posts. A side note, u sound a little congested, I hope u r not sick and if u are I hope u r at the tail end of it and feeling better. Better yet I hope I just am assuming u r sick and that u’re not sick at all lol

if you're finding this community to be too small, why isn't anyone trying to invite other people to populate the app? Why not ask your friends who aren't just blind but cited to come and try engaging with this app. It seems to have a clubhouse vibe to it, and cited people were fine engaging with it so why not try And bring more of your friends, your family members etc. The conventions are coming up, so get the word out, invite more people with more ideas and views and whatever on the app. Grow the community that you want to hear. ☺️

Speaking only for myself, I did invite people to the app, and most of them didn't stick around because the environment is pretty hostile to marginalized people. There's a fair amount of homophobia and transphobia and racism, and most of my friends are in those demographics. I don't think the Clubhouse comparison is entirely accurate because Clubhouse was huge when it was in its heyday and blind people were only a small percentage of the user base, and this app was made by and for blind people and I think it lacks many of the features that would make it more appealing to a wider audience. There's potential here, but the app hasn't reached it.

I’ve been sharing it to a lot of Facebook group

This is too Misty, and two other people that are tired of hearing the same voices and want people with broader experiences to spice up the app. So again I asked, why aren't people trying to advertise and market this app on other social media platforms? Put it on your YouTube, and your TikTok, the only way that social media spreads is if other people tell them about it. And if we're just telling blind people about it then that's all you're going to hear. Invite people that aren't strictly in our community. This is again no different than clubhouse. And I wonder, if this app had been made invite only initially, if it would've drummed up more interest because people always want to get into clubs they're not invited to. Lol just food for thought.

For the person that said I'm just here for the drama you should have a shirt that says that because that would be an interesting one.
