This is so goddamn disgusting

Am I the only one that feels this whole post is basically just right-wingers talking about shit they don't understand, because like... that's what it feels like to me. Leave trans people alone, they didn't do shit to you anyway.

That’s exactly what it is, Leo. Yesterday I actually bothered to respond, but then deleted it because there’s nothing reasonable you can say to these people, like even trolling them is a complete waste of energy, and at this point, I think I’d sooner have tacks for snacks.

It's only a fear tactic, and it apparently works. Trust me, this was not done by the left. This is a smear. Just like the republicans are using that Ohio woman's childhood rape against her.

The campaign that started this thread does not strike me as fair, as I said early in this discussion. But kids are too young to understand sexuality, long-term health concerns, and even some of what goes in to charting a course consistent with an identity. As such, trying to make kids choose between things they don't understand is neither safe, nor wise, nor reasonable to do. The trouble with this stuff nowadays, though, is that we are in a long-term ongoing war over what information people can find, let alone what they may come to understand and believe. I have not given up trying to explain; but just as was often true in Biblical times, the only thing that ends up teaching the masses is a mass of experiences. For this discussion, that is extremely sad because of what it means for some of the future adults that are now kids. The lawsuits from just adults have already begun; we haven't seen many yet from kids who went through this yet because it is too early. Sadly, this will happen. Chloe Cole filed one in 2022 and is a high-profile figure in this discussion. I chanced to DM with her a bit before she was so well-known, though even by then she was very solid in her stance on opposing the transition of minors.

Quick background on Chloe Cole since I mentioned her: Chloe Cole (https://www.google.com/search?kgmid=%2Fg%2F11ts0fn7jn&q=Chloe+Cole) is an American political activist who is well-known for her public opposition to gender-affirming care for minors. She identifies as a "detransitioner"—someone who underwent medical gender transition procedures as a child and later chose to reverse the process. Medical Transition and Detransition According to her public testimonies and interviews, Cole began her transition journey at age 12 after struggling with her gender identity. Her medical transition took place between the ages of 13 and 16, during which she was prescribed puberty blockers, received testosterone injections, and underwent a double mastectomy at age 15. At age 16, she regretted the procedures and decided to stop the treatments, returning to her identity as a woman. She has noted that she suffers from permanent physical and psychological complications as a result of her early medical care. Activism and Political Presence Cole has become a prominent voice for conservative organizations and lawmakers pushing for legal restrictions on youth gender care. Her work includes: • Legislative Testimony: She has delivered high-profile, emotional testimony before the U.S. Senate and several state legislative committees, arguing that minors are not mature enough to provide informed consent for life-altering medical operations. • Policy and Collaboration: She has advocated for policies alongside conservative political figures and has supported government actions intended to halt transgender medical interventions for children. • Public Speaking: Sponsored by groups like the Young America's Foundation, she regularly tours college campuses to speak about her experience, parental rights, and her personal spiritual awakening. • Legal Action: In 2022, she filed a lawsuit against her former medical provider, Kaiser Permanente, alleging medical negligence and a failure to provide sufficient information for informed consent.

It is proven that some say they are happier, but it is also proven that some say they aren't. The term "happier" is of course also subjective. I'd say, since Chloe has for years fought the notion that she should have been transitioned, she does not regard the transition as having made her "happier."

The way these people go on and on you think no one was happy transitioning LOL. They’ll say that people transition just for social acceptance, and I’m just thinking like how? That would be the dumbest plan ever to get social validation. Just look at this thread 😂😏. Ratchet ass gashes.

Well, this is still not a decision that should be made by a minor. It is absolutely impossible to totally switch genders. And that is never a decision that a child should make.

No I do not believe we have established that the majority of transitioners are happier. I do believe we have begun to establish that the suicide rate actually goes up, not down, with transition. One resource that tracks that sort of thing is statsForGender.org, which contains this brief commentary on the effect of anti-transition state laws on suicidality, with sources not copied here for brevity. Note that this commentary is just what I could find in a couple minutes. Mostly, I say it underscores my assertion that we are fighting over what people are allowed to see. A 2024 study by Lee et al. concluded that state-level anti-transgender laws increased suicide attempts among transgender and non-binary youth in the United States. However, a 2026 commentary published in Nature Human Behaviour raised several methodological concerns about the analysis. The commentary questioned the selection of control states, noted that much of the apparent effect was driven by data from a single state, challenged the validity of the parallel trends assumption, and found that the results were not robust to alternative analytic approaches. The authors argued that these limitations weakened the study's ability to support causal conclusions about the effects of state laws on suicide attempts. Importantly, the study examined self-reported suicide attempts rather than suicide deaths. Suicide attempts and suicide mortality are distinct outcomes. Population-based studies of suicide mortality have found that pre-existing psychiatric comorbidities are major predictors of suicide risk. For example, a Finnish nationwide register study found that 20 of 2,083 adolescents and young adults referred to gender identity services (0.96%) died by suicide during long-term follow-up. Suicide mortality was initially higher than in matched controls from the general population, but after taking previous psychiatric treatment into account, the difference was no longer statistically significant. These findings suggest that psychiatric history, rather than gender referral status itself, largely explains the elevated suicide risk.

I do like your calm and willing approach to this discussion by the way. We are indeed likely to disagree on several things, but we agree that discussion is important for learning and differences are to be expected in diverse communities.

Either way, the argument is absolutely and utterly irrelevant. The union the pamphlet addresses does not exist. Nothing about any of the pamphlets is real. It is all a fear tactic because a great swath of the population is genuinely convinced there are litter boxes in classrooms and evil doctors waiting to force puberty blockers in your precious blonde-haired blue-eyed children. Gas prices are through the roof, cost of flying's up, people are genuinely worried about masked thugs kidnapping their loved ones, and the rights of the disabled are being challenged in a way not seen in decades. But sure, let’s worry about the evil transgender Muslim brown people from Venezuela. It’s all smoke and mirrors. It’s all petty fear mongering. And anybody looking at this very comment section should be genuinely scared for the future. We are cooked.

Yeah, I tend to be as calm as possible when talking with people who have differing views. That's why we live in a diverse world. Even though on the whole I tho your misguided, I am not gonna try to insult you over it or call you any number of names, because ultimately that doesn't continue the discussion productively, it just create subconcious stonewalling on both sides.

The thing is, even if this wasn't made up nonsense, and if there truly was an organization out there sending pamphlets like this, please enlighten me as to how that is worse than legitimately lying about your opponent's stay at a mental hospital in Ohio while also framing said stay as a bad thing? Or helping child predators get off with a slap on the wrist? Like have they got y'all this shook over a tiny percentage of a percentage of the population?

The conservative party has a pedophilia problem, and it’s not just the Trump Epstein network, it’s a lot of politicians and evangelical leaders. It’s getting worse because they refuse to address it and instead keep trying to promote all these fake stories about their opponents. When was the last time you heard conservatives like Gordon or Doug Lee talking about it? Instead, they are constantly rallying around these fake stories even after it is shown to them how fake they are. And no, you do not have to be polite to them about it for crying out loud.

There sure are other problems, no lie; but from what I can tell, the mailers were actually sent out. There are just questions about who did it and why. Corrections welcome, but that's what it looks like from here. In other words, I don't think this story is fake, even though the organization that did it, if we should call it an organization, seems to be faking an identity and perhaps its intentions.

The story is of course real. What was being disputed was just the existence of the organization that claimed to have sent them. People are saying it's an obvious psy-op from the Republican side to push people into a fear mentality right before the midterms

You're probably using the regular iOS client and not the beta, which would prevent you from replying to individual comments. It might help, when you want to say something intense like that, that you include the name of the person you are aiming at, so bystanders won't feel like they need to duck or clean off their shirts. :-) More seriously, I do admit to you that discovering what really is true has become more complicated in the presence of powers on both sides that squelch information, combined of course with social media's tendency to amplify misinformation.

Yeah, at this point, this whole thing has basically just become transfobia at this point, and I'm not willing to engage anymore with transfobic people. And btw, the Republicans aren't gonna win, history shows that when the party in power is in office, during the mid-terms and the presidential elections occur, they are at a political disaadvantage. I'm voting blue as much as I can both in policies and in people I choose to support, not because I'm loyal, but because of people like you spreading transfobia around and calling it normal like your gonna get a round of applause for being transfobic.
Loading reactions…
A "phobia" is a fear. "Transphobia" would be a fear of trans people. This is totally different than a belief that "trans" is not what some say it is. For a parallel: If you don't believe God exists, that's atheism, but not theophobia. Theophobia would make you shake in your shoes at the possibility of meeting a God you may hope does not exist. I am aware that the word "transphobe" is used as a slur against people who think differently about gender ideology, but the word is being misused.

This is definitely going to be a Republican win all across the board. You have a lot of people out there with common sense who love America, and they are definitely going to vote that way.

Doug I think you’re on the right track by pretending like you don’t understand when you’ve been rat fucked by political operatives. It helps you preserve your belligerent misconceptions with an air of innocent plausibility . It’s not the first time I’ve seen you do it out here either

This is the last I'll say on this, but your splitting hairs at this point, and it's clear to me that your not genuine in your arguments at this point. Ultimately, I'm not here to convince you of anything, I'm just not willing to engage anymore because I have better things to do with my life, and it won't go anywhere because you've shown your true colors, and it's pretty obvious that your transfobic, despite what you choose to justify it as.

Gordon, this entire post started with you pushing a false agenda that was a hoax to begin with. A very expensive agenda pushing hoax I might add. If you keep falling for this kind of rat fucking can you imagine all the other bullshit you fall for in politics?

Ah, I did think you were aiming at me but wasn't sure. Funny thing is, I remember a month or two ago thinking you had strong beliefs, but I couldn't remember in favor of which party. I'll probably discover or revive that information soon enough in here. :-)

It is funny, though, when people try to play the transphobic card if you don't agree with their way of thinking. Kind of like people thinking that you were a racist if you believed that Carmelo Anthony should've gone to prison for murdering Austin Medcalf. Austin is dead, Carmelo is still alive. Carmelo had the knife and Austin didn't have anything, so it is what it is. It has absolutely nothing to do with racism.

But when you see people like Dan 26 out in the wild, expressing his opinions, it really should encourage you to get out there and vote. Could you imagine a few more years of his way of thinking? We are definitely headed in the right direction now, but we still have a good ways to go, but going back to Dan 26 way of thinking, that would set us back and we would really be in big trouble.

Gordon pushes a hoax about people going after children then accuses other people of having an agenda. All the while his favorite leaders are actual pedophiles absolutely laughing their ass off at him for falling for the hoax and spreading it around. Rinse repeat etc.

He also bragged about throwing out more than 2 million Democrat ballots in 2020 . He’s so fucked up that even the bush family is voting Democrat lol

Republicans supporting Paxton in Texas have spent a whopping $78 million so far on anti-trans ads attacking Talarico, per AdImpact data. Much of that is coming from Texas Pac, which is predominantly funded by Elon Musk.

the fraudulent transgender mailers have a connection back to Dallas, Texas, where a local Republican megadonor used a similar playbook years ago when he funded a fake BLM group to send letters to wealthy white parents that were designed to discredit the BLM movement.
