When it comes to most activities, I’d say no. Specifically with smoking, I think they should. It’s bad for your health, it’s bad for the babies health if they grow up around it, and it affects your chances of growing up and living long enough to see the kid grow up. It’s less about whether he should do it because the girl can’t do it more about he shouldn’t do it because it’s not good for him, her, or the baby. When men have kids, they really had a reflect and make smarter choices so that they can be Good role models.

King, that was my point exactly. The man should abstain from drugs and alcohol in her presence. Thus removing any temptation or desire from her to use again while pregnant. I happen to be the uncle of a child who was born with fetal alcohol syndrome, and born addicted to crack cocaine. Having sat through that child’s withdrawals, it reminds me of how important it is for women to abstain. And therefore, in the woman’s presence, her significant other, her sperm donor if you will, should abstain as well for no other reason then to remove temptation.

Jones, I saw your comment — temptation can mean a lot of different things! People here are talking about food and dieting, so it could be something like, “Man, I really want that cheesecake,” or “I wish I could ditch this diabetic diet.” 😂 Honestly though, temptation is super subjective. People often jump straight to thinking it’s about flirting or something sexual, but it can just as easily be about wanting food you can’t have — like in this case, maybe the guy can’t indulge because she’s pregnant and has diabetes.

Contrary to what many think, I believe out of respect for the woman a man should abstaiin at least in her presence! Thus removing any temptation for her. Again, I think that is just a respect factor.

This would be like your partner becoming diabetic and you giving up everything to match her diet. If I were to become diabetic, I wouldn't expect my partner to give up everything they can have just because I can't.

Surely to make a baby in most cases, a couple have if not one more than few pleasurable moments! In terms of man ejaculating inside a woman, that is a basic reproduction process for humans and other creatures as we know man provide the sperm women have the eggs and so on and so forth, A man to expect from his lady to give up the pleasurable things he enjoy is selfish in my opinion, if he decide to give some of the things he loves that’s up to him, they should not be any expectation, that’s not true love, or caring for someone. Yeah, when the baby is born, if man can manage to look after the baby like feeding changing staying up helping out this absolutely fine in my opinion.

I don't smoke weed or do drugs, so that shit is kinda weird to me, but with that said, abstaining from things that I find enjoyable, because my partner can't do them for whatever reason is silly.

Let's say that a couple enjoyed horseback riding. That's like saying that the assumed father of the baby should stop horseback riding, because his pregnant wife/girlfriend can't ride horses in the latter stages of the pregnancy.

No he shouldn’t have to abstain from the things that she does, but he should not do them around her. That’s very inconsiderate if someone’s pregnant and cannot do things that they love to do and they can’t have the things that they want to have. It’s inconsiderate to do that around them so I think he should at least go out on the porch and drink or smoke a cigarette. But maybe to make up for that, he should help out more when the baby wakes up at night and let her have her luxuries then.
